Consultation can take a variety of forms, from giving advice after studying emailed photos, to meeting for a couple of hours on your site, to visiting your site, photographing it and doing a design. We might then meet with contractors and select a project manager, lay out the garden, and leave it to those professionals to implement. The garden shown below was brought about through this latter approach.

We finalized the proportions after drawing the project out on site. This gave us a rough visual by which to determine the final measurements. Although it is best to oversee construction, (note that the water feature, drawn out in the center of the above image, was not built as designed) it is not always necessary. This project was managed by a local landscape architect who hired the sub-contractors. We met with all of them, went over the project in detail and left the L.A. to manage the project.
